Salford Red Devils’ Sam Luckley remains suspended for one match after unsuccessfully challenging a Match Review Panel verdict of a Grade B intentional trip during his side’s Super League match against Catalans Dragons.  

Joel Farrell of Sheffield Eagles, who was referred to tribunal by the Match Review Panel on a Grade D Striking charge, successfully challenged the grading which was amended to Grade B after the player pleased guilty to the offence. Farrell will serve a two-match suspension and is fined £250. 

Newcastle Thunder’s Alex Foster looks set to miss the rest of the season after being handed an eight match suspension at tribunal tonight. Foster, who was referred by the Match Review Panel on a Grade F charge for physical assault of a match official during his side’s Betfred Championship match with Bradford Bulls, admitted the offence but challenged the grading. However, the tribunal found him guilty at Grade F and also fined him £250.  

Matt Gee of Halifax Panthers will miss five matches for two offences committed during the recent Championship match with York City Knights. Gee, who pleaded guilty at tribunal to a Grade D Dangerous Contact (Late hit on passer), is suspended for four matches for that offence, plus another for a Grade B Dangerous Contact during the same game. He is also fined £250.  

Earlier today the following players accepted penalties imposed by the Match Review Panel.

Ben Kavanagh (Halifax Panthers) – Dangerous contact – Grade B – 1 match 

Morgan Knowles (St Helens) – Late hit on passer – Grade A – 1 match 

Kevin Larroyer (Halifax Panthers) – Dangerous throw – Grade C - 2 matches 

Sione Mata’utia (St Helens) – Other contrary behaviour – Grade C – 3 matches 

Martyn Ridyard (Oldham) – Kicking – Grade C – 2 matches 

Sam Walters (Leeds Rhinos) – High tackle – Grade A – 0 matches 

Jack Welsby (St Helens) – Late hit on passer – Grade A – 0 matches 

Tribunal hearings for Luke Collins (Cornwall) and Luke Nelmes (Oldham) will be held tomorrow, Wednesday 20 July.
