Betfred Women's Super League Round Three Round-Up

Betfred Women's Super League Round Three Round-Up

Warrington maintained their winning start in the Betfred Women's Super League with a comprehensive 48-0 win at previously unbeaten Featherstone on Sunday.

Michelle Davis led the way with a hat-trick of tries while Charlie Magaw, who began the rout with an early touchdown, also crossed twice in the Group Two encounter.

Emily Downs got on the scoresheet as the Wolves opened up a 22-0 lead in the first half while further scores came from Emily Baggaley, Georgia Sutherland and Claire Mullaney.

York also kept up their 100 per cent record in Group One as they claimed a hard-fought 24-10 victory over Leeds at the LNER Commiunity Stadium.

The scores were locked at 4-4 at the interval after York's Tara Jane Stanley responded to an early Zoe Hornby try for Leeds with a fine individual effort.

Alisha Clayton put the City Knights ahead for the first time early in the second half and Stanley added two goals but Leeds remained in contention as Hornby crossed for her second.

It took late tries from Tamzin Renouf and Olivia Wood, both converted by Stanley, to see York home.

Wigan held off a Huddersfield fightback for an 30-18 win over Huddersfield at Laund Hill.

Two tries from Rebecca Greenfield and further scores from Emma Dwyer and Georgia Wilson put the Warriors into a commanding 20-0 lead at the break but the Giants rallied after the break.

Beth Hayes and Anna Davies went over to settle the visitors' nerves.

Barrow claimed their first win as they overcame Leigh Miners Rangers 40-6 at the end of an emotional week following the sudden death of their assistant coach Alex Broadhead.

In Saturday's action, Bradford ran out 28-10 winners at Wakefield.
