Former Widnes Vikings, York City Knights and Scotland International Lee Paterson has joined the England Universities staff as Strength & Conditioning coach.
Lee takes over the role from Calum Christopherson who commenced a full time role with Castleford Tigers this season and is unable to commit to the programme.
"Its great to be getting on board," explained Lee.
"I'm really looking forward to working with the team and being part of the staff and aiming for an end goal, starting this year with playing my part in preparing the team for the RFL President's Cup and the Student Rugby League Four Nations."
The rest of the staff team remains unchanged from last year, with Head Coach Richard Tate moving into his second season as head coach, having first started with England as assistant coach in 2017, which included a trip to the Student Rugby League World Cup in Australia, and Tate is looking forward to the 2019 season.
"2018 was a very successful year and we won all of our games against our second test against New Zealand," he said.
"But equally important as being successful on the field, we were successful off it, with a number of players developing and improving themselves throughout the programme and some were able to use their time with England to showcase their abilities and move further up the professional club ladder."
"It was my first year as head coach of England and it was a great learning experience for me personally," he continued.
"We had some great feedback from the players which has helped shape the approach to this year's programme and we're looking forward to welcoming them all to the first camp in March."
