The first fixtures of 2022 will take place this weekend as six teams get their Pre-Season schedules underway.
York City Knights and newly rebranded Midlands Hurricanes will get proceedings underway on Friday 7 January with both sides adding several new faces ahead of the 2022 season.
The Knights have brought in the likes of Pauli Pauli and Jamie Ellis for the upcoming Betfred Championship season while the Hurricanes have been active since the turn of the year bringing players from the National Conference League.
There is a double dose of pre-season action on Sunday with Barrow Raiders and Workington Town meeting in a Cumbrian derby while Bradford Bulls welcome Batley Bulldogs to Odsal Stadium in an all-West Yorkshire affair.
Barrow and Workington will both be looking for strong starts to the year after both Cumbrian outfits gained promotion from Betfred League 1 to the Betfred Championship at the end of last season, the Raiders as League Leaders and Workington via the Play-Offs.
Bradford and Batley both competed in last season’s Betfred Championship Play-Offs and will have desires of going one further in 2022. Former Warrington halfback Dec Patton has been Bradford’s most notable off-season signing.
