Green Flag assistance for Rugby League’s Combined Nations All Stars

Leading roadside assistance and vehicle recovery provider, Green Flag, is today named official shirt sponsor of Rugby League’s Combined Nations All Stars. 

The All Stars face England at Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium on Friday 25 June, when coach Tim Sheens will draw upon Rugby League’s non-English contingent as he plots the downfall of Shaun Wane’s side. 

The design of the soon-to be-revealed All Stars jersey, will be inspired by the popular Samoan player Mose Masoe. £10 from each jersey sale will go to the Mose Masoe Foundation – the charity that was set up in the light of Mose’s injury to provide support for his family, but with the long-term goal of supporting other Rugby League players who suffer spinal injuries. 

In keeping with the Masoe theme, Green Flag will also be supporting the Mose Masoe Foundation.

Australian Tim Sheens boasts one of the longest and most successful coaching careers in Rugby League, having won Premierships with Canberra Raiders and Wests Tigers, and the 2013 World Cup with Australia. Sheens moved to England in 2015, initially as director of rugby at Salford, and has coached Hull KR and Widnes.

All Stars coach Tim Sheens adds:
“I’d like to thank Green Flag for supporting the All Stars and the Mose Masoe Foundation.   The Exiles games that were played a decade or so ago showed the amount of overseas talent in the Super League, and by rebranding as Combined Nations All Stars, it’s expanded the players available from other countries who will be involved in the World Cup. 

“Although we know one of the main aims of the fixture is to help Shaun Wane and his England team by providing an intense quality match as part of their World Cup preparations, I’m pretty confident that when we get the group together, we’ll also be determined to beat them.”

The Mose Masoe Foundation was launched in March this year to raise funds to help relieve the financial and mental hardship of players who suffer spinal injuries affecting their welfare and quality of life. The kit for the Combined Nations All Stars will be unveiled shortly, and the design will incorporate all Masoe’s previous clubs, as well as a unique shoulder and sleeve design that replicates his own tattoos. 

Tickets for the All Stars versus England game are available now from only £20 (adults) and £10 (under 16s) at eticketing.co.uk/rugbyleague. Due to current Covid restrictions a limited allocation of tickets is on sale now for this fixture, which is part of a historic double-header featuring the Women’s International between England and Wales.
