He made his 400th club appearance when Warrington hosted Catalans Dragons in round two of the qualifiers; only the 10th player to surpass this number of games for the club.
His Warrington career to date includes three Challenge Cup winner’s medals; 2009, 2010 – when he took on the kicking duty – and 2012. He has also stepped out at Old Trafford in the Grand Final on two occasions, crossing for a try in 2013. And was part of the squad in both 2011 and 2016 when the club lifted the League Leaders shield. He has four Super Dream Team selections to his name too; 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Westwood made his England international debut in 2004, with 27 caps to his name, including the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
Westwood said: “It’s fantastic news. I am over the moon to be staying. It’s been going on for a while so I’m glad it’s now sorted and I am really looking forward to next year. I’ve still got some goals I need to achieve at this club; I think you all know the main one is the Grand Final win and I really do believe that this club can do it.
“You can’t beat experience in my eyes. I didn’t say that when I was younger but now I’m older I think experience plays a big part in the way you play. I’d like to think I’ve got bags of that and can still offer something to the team. I honestly believe I can still do a job at a good standard and for as long as I feel I can do that I’ll always put my hand up.
“I’ll know when I’m ready to retire and it’s not the time yet. When that time comes around I’ll let you all know and we can celebrate the life of Super Bennie Westwood at Warrington Wolves.”
