The final match of an amazing weekend of international Rugby League sees a repeat of the World Cup Final, as England Wheelchair face France at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Historically, France have had the upper hand, however, Tom Coyd’s side completed the double over the French last season.
During the mid-season international, Coyd’s side defeated a French side who were missing some of their key players. Before defeating them in the World Cup Final, which saw England lift the trophy at Manchester Central.
Captain, Tom Halliwell scored the winning try and he will lead his side out in his home city on Saturday.
Another Leeds player who is set to feature is Josh Butler. Butler was named as the Betfred Wheelchair Super League Young Player of the Year at the end of season awards in Manchester. London Roosters’ Lewis King was named as the inaugural winner of the Wheels of Steel. King has also been named in the side.
The side will also be strengthened by Jack Brown returning. Brown is based in Australia and plays for the North Queensland Cowboys. Brown was a key part of England’s route to being crowned as the World Champions.
This contest will be the first of two, with the sides meeting in Marseille on the 25th November.
