Betfred Women's Super League Preview | 2 July

York Valkyrie will face Wigan Warriors in a repeat of last weekends’ Women’s Nines Semi-Final.

On that occasion the Warriors had the upper hand, however, recent meetings could suggest that York will have the upper hand.

The Valkyrie have won their last seven meetings with Wigan, including last seasons’ Semi-Final, where York secured their place in the Grand Final.

Wigan Warriors have impressed this season and a key component of that is their upcoming stars.

Kaitlin Hilton, Grace Banks and Beri Salihi have all stood up and posed a key threat to other sides.

St Helens welcome Huddersfield on Sunday, with the Saints continuing to put pressure at the top of the table.

In their four previous meetings, St Helens have kept the Giants scoreless.

Huddersfield were defeated in their last match against Wigan. After a cagey start, Wigan found more late on to get the victory.

The Giants are yet to get a league win this season.

The final match from Group One will see Warrington Wolves face Leeds Rhinos.

Warrington have stood up well since their promotion to the league this season.

The Wolves drew their opening game with Wigan, before losing to York and then beating Huddersfield in their most recent fixture.

The current Super League Champions lifted the first bit of silverware this season, when they won the Women’s Nines.

Leeds are below Warrington in the table. The Rhinos have lost to the top two sides in the table, York and St Helens, but they did comfortably defeat Huddersfield.

Three matches will take place in Group Two.

Third and fourth will meet, as Salford Red Devils clash with Featherstone Rovers.

Salford have beaten Castleford and Bradford this season but did lost to league leaders Leigh. Featherstone beat Barrow 30-8 in their opening fixture, before losing to a late Leigh drop goal in round three.

Barrow will face the unbeaten Leigh Leopards. Barrow’s only defeat came in the opening game to Featherstone, but have bounced back by scoring 42 and 48 points against Bradford and Castleford.

After drawing their opening game, the Leopards have convincingly defeated Salford and then beating Featherstone by a point.

Bradford Bulls and Castleford Tigers will be looking for their first win when they meet on Sunday.

Castleford have lost both of their matches, meanwhile Bradford have one point after a draw with Leigh.
