Sheffield Eagles kicked off Round 16 with a bang on Friday night, as they dispatched Newcastle Thunder.

Eagles’ forward Titus Gwaze opened the scoring. Before, Jack Hansen and Cory Aston added further tries to give Sheffield a 18-0 half-time lead.

Sheffield scored four second half tries, including a second for Aston during the 40-0 victory.

Toulouse completed an impressive June with a home win against Bradford.

Benjamin Laguerre and Josh Ralph both scored braces, meanwhile, Guy Armitage completed a hat-trick during the 52-14 victory.

On Sunday, London Broncos produced a huge performance to beat in-form Batley Bulldogs at the Fox’s Biscuits Stadium.

Dean Paratta and Iliess Macani scored a try apiece in the first half, as the Broncos took a 14-2 lead into the break.

Despite a second half fightback, London held on to the 20-18 away win.

Halifax fought back from 16-0 down to defeat Barrow Raiders 48-20.

Ellis Gillam, Ryan Shaw and Andrew Bulman tries put Barrow into a 16-0 lead in as many minutes.

Lachlan Walmsley and Adam O’Brien hit back before the break. As the sides left the field, Jarrod Sammut was shown a red card.

The Panthers made the man advantage count, as they scored six second half tries, which including a further three tries from Walmsley.

Keighley bounced back from recent defeats with a home victory over Whitehaven.

The Cougars raced into a 12-0 lead after tries from Alix Stephenson, Mo Agoro and Lloyd Roby.

Both sides traded tries in the second half, however, Keighley held the resilient Haven side at bay.

Swinton Lions defeat Widnes Vikings for the first time since July 1998.

The Lions took a 14-0 lead after tries from Jamie Ellis and George Roby.

The visitors started the second half strongly, with Rhodri Lloyd putting Swinton into a 20-0 lead after just a minute of the second half.

Widnes scored two consolation tries, but Swinton were able to end their 18 game losing streak against the Vikings.

Featherstone Rovers came from behind to defeat York Knights.

Ata Hingano opened the scoring, before Joey Leilua hit back for the visitors.

Hingano was involved again when his kick was fumbled and winger AJ Towse pounced to score.

Mark Kheirallah’s try late in the half put Featherstone ahead as the sides left the field after the first 40.

Rovers managed to keep York scoreless in the second half, meanwhile adding a couple tries in the 24-8 victory at the LNER Community Stadium.
