Betfred Women's Super League Round-Up | July 17

York City Knights extended their lead at the top of Betfred Super League Group 1 to four points with a resounding 50-0 win against bottom of the table Huddersfield Giants.

The Knights ran in nine tries at the LNER Community Stadium and England international Tamzin Renouf scored a hat-trick as they made it five wins from five matches this season after leading 20-0 at half-time.

Knights' full-back Tara Jane Stanley crossed over twice and there were also tries from Lacey Owens, Sinead Peach, Hollie Dodd, Ash Hyde and Jasmine Bell.

In Group 2, Barrow climbed level on points with leaders Warrington Wolves after running out comfortable 50-4 winners at rock-bottom Wakefield Trinity.

Barrow leapfrogged Featherstone Rovers into second place after Rovers slipped to their second defeat of the season following a narrow 12-10 loss away to Leigh Miners Rangers.

Castleford Tigers remain winless after five matches as they went down 48-16 at home to Bradford Bulls.

Tigresses' Maisie Lumb - who rejoined Castleford earlier this year after some time out to concentrate on her studies after playing for the side in 2019 - touched down for hat-trick.

But the visitors overpowered their hosts as Ebony Haley also crossed over to celebrate her own treble, with Hannah Donald, Emily Heaps, Beth Macmillan, Bailey Alexander and Cara Cookland adding further tries
