Featherstone Rovers have confirmed the signing of Samoan International Junior Moors ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season.
Moors joins the Rovers as a free agent after six successful seasons with local rivals Castleford Tigers in the Betfred Super League. The forward made 114 appearances, scoring 18 tries, at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.
His career began with Penrith Panthers before spells with Wests Tigers and Melbourne Storm in the NRL. Moors featured in Melbourne’s 2013 World Club Challenge victory over Leeds Rhinos.
Whilst at Castleford, Moors helped the side to the League Leaders’ Shield in 2017 and went on to feature at Old Trafford in that season’s Betfred Super League Grand Final.
Rovers boss James Webster said: “Junior is a significant signing for the club. He brings a vast degree of experience from stints within the NRL and Super League.
“His ability to mix his game up between power and skill adds another dimension to our already strong pack.”
Football Manager, Steve Gill, added: “I’m really pleased to get a player of Junior’s quality to the club, we have a bit of work to do with his visa, but I don’t foresee a problem.
“The big man will certainly give us some punch up front and it’s something both myself and James Webster had discussed going into this campaign.
“I would also like to say thanks to our CEO Davide Longo, as well as the Board of Directors for their support in this deal.”
