Try Tag Rugby to launch in Bristol

Try Tag Rugby to launch in Bristol

Try Tag Rugby, after expanding further in Manchester and launching in Hull and Coventry this summer, are also announcing yet another launch, this time in Bristol.

Try Tag Rugby, the Rugby Football League's Tag Rugby League partner, is the UK delegate to the International Tag Federation (ITF) and currently operates in London, Coventry & Warwickshire, Manchester, the Thames Valley and Yorkshire.

Tag Rugby League is a fun and exciting non-contact social sport suitable for adults; no previous rugby experience is necessary; it’s a sport that can be enjoyed by beginners and experienced players alike.

Try Tag Rugby will launch their first league in Bristol on Thursday, 17th May at Clifton Downs (BS9 1FG), which is easy to access from the city centre. Tag Rugby League is a very social sport and a great way to meet new people as well as a chance to meet up with existing friends. The nearby King’s Arms pub will be an ideal location during the summer months for hosting the traditional Try Tag Rugby weekly post-match social, where players come together to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat with their team mates and opposition.

Try Tag Rugby Bristol Operations Manager James Hawken said: “It’s exciting to be launching in Bristol this summer. The interest in the taster sessions has been phenomenal with 114 players registered for our first one!” “We have no doubt that Tag Rugby League will take off in Bristol. With Bristol being a hub for young professionals, we want to promote the social aspect of the sport as best we can as it’s a great way to improve your fitness, have fun and make plenty of new friends.”

Try Tag Rugby are also looking to recruit referees in the area. If you would like to get involved as a referee, contact bristol@trytagrugby.com

Registration for the leagues is now open for individuals, groups and teams. If signing up as an individual or group, Try Tag Rugby will put players into a team. Register here.

Important dates: Thursday, 10th May – Free taster session at Clifton Downs

Thursday, 17th May – The Clifton Downs mixed league commences
