Players and staff at all 11 Betfred Super League clubs, and RFL match officials and other supporting staff, have now been tested* (*antigen tests) at least three times ahead of the restart of the competition next weekend.
From a total of 1,462 tests, none have tested positive for Covid-19.
This week, there have been 540 tests – 538 have been negative, and the results of two are being awaited (only one of whom is a player, and in that case not of one of the four clubs playing this weekend).
Screen4 were selected as the preferred testing partner for Betfred Super League clubs. Players and officials from each club, along with match officials and other key matchday staff, will undergo weekly antigen testing.
Super League and the RFL will provide a central weekly update on COVID-19 tests carried out and the breakdown of results.
For the purpose of medical privacy, no details of specific Clubs or individuals will be provided as part of this update.
The 2020 Betfred Super League season resumes with two fixtures at Emerald Headingley on Sunday August 2 – Leeds Rhinos v Huddersfield Giants, and St Helens v Catalans Dragons.
The other seven clubs remaining in the competition following the withdrawal of Toronto Wolfpack return to action the following weekend.
