Whitehaven have confirmed contract extensions for three players – including 2019 Betfred League 1 Player of the Season Dion Aiye – ahead of the 2020 Championship season.
Aiye and fellow Papua New Guinean Jessie Joe Parker have both committed to Whitehaven next season alongside Jason Mossop who will stay with the club until the end of 2021.
Aiye said: “I’ve been here for the last five or six years now and it’s like my second home.
“I’m really pleased to have signed for another two years. I enjoy it here and I’m looking forward to next season.”
Parker is looking forward to extending his stay with the Cumbrian side into a ninth season.
He said: “I’m very happy to sign again, it means a lot to me. I’ve been here since 2012 and Whitehaven is like a second home to me.
The Championship will be tough, but the boys are preparing well, and I think we will go OK.”
Head Coach, Gary Charlton, said: “The two PNG lads have been great for Whitehaven. They love it here and the fans love them.”
Whitehaven will begin life back in the Championship at home to Swinton Lions on Sunday 2 February.
