Toulouse Olympique have confirmed the signing of vastly experienced prop-forward Rémi Casty ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship season.
Casty has spent the majority of his playing career with fellow French side Catalans Dragons in the Betfred Super League amassing a massive 337 appearances for the club and leading them to their first Challenge Cup triumph at Wembley Stadium back in 2018.
The 35-year-old spent the 2014 season Down Under with Sydney Roosters, making his debut in that year’s World Club Challenge victory over Wigan Warriors in Sydney.
On the move, Casty said: “I am just happy to have signed for Toulouse Olympique and excited about our mission.
“No French club has earned promotion into the Super League, and participating in that would be fantastic, for the club but also for Toulouse in general.”
Toulouse Olympique President, Bernard Sarrazain, added: “The arrival of Rémi is an essential asset in view of the team’s objective.
“He is a competitor and a leader, he knows his role in the squad, and we expect a lot from him.”
Casty has represented his country on 25 occasions including at both the 2008 and 2013 Rugby League World Cups.
