The Women's Super League fixture between Leeds Rhinos and York City Knights, which was abandoned after the Rhinos’ Sophie Robinson suffered a serious leg injury in the act of scoring her third try, will not be replayed. Leeds were leading 30-0 at the time of Sophie’s unfortunate injury and this will be recorded as the final score.
The RFL reached its decision following consultation with the respective clubs and after due consideration of RFL Operational rules on abandoned games*.
Robinson has since tweeted her thanks from hospital for the many messages she has received from well-wishers, but also confirmed that a long lay-off is likely.
*If a game is abandoned with more than three-quarters of the playing time elapsed, the result shall stand unless otherwise determined by the RFL. If less than three-quarters of the playing time has elapsed the RFL, at its sole discretion, may order a game to be re-played.
