We’ve got a midweek three to watch as the Year 11 schools finals and College final are streamed exclusively on Our League on Wednesday!
Wigan Warriors vs Furness Raiders | College Final | Our League | 2:30pm
The opening fixture of the day will see Wigan Warriors College take on Furness Raiders in the National College Cup. Both sides are Category Three academies with Wigan being linked with the town’s Super League side while Furness Raiders are joined with Championship club Barrow Raiders.
Furness Raiders were beaten finalists in the 2018 National College Cup as they lost 34-16 to Wakefield College at Craven Park. However, the Raiders are once more in the final after dominant victories over Cowley, Huddersfield New College and Wyke on route.
It is Wigan Warriors’ first time in the National College Cup final and they find themselves challenging for silverware after defeating Carmel, Warrington Wolves Category Three Academy and Huddersfield Giants Category Three Academy.
Can Furness win the title this year or will Wigan make it a day to remember?
Castleford Academy vs Astley High | Girls Year 11 Final | Our League | 5:30pm
Castleford Academy will go head-to-head with Astley High in the Year 11 Girls Final in the second fixture of the day and a repeat of the 2018 Girls Year 10 Final.
Castleford’s appearance in the Year 11 final means they have now competed in five consecutive national finals from Year 7 through to this season. They come into this year’s final as defending champions following their 36-6 victory over Astley High last season.
Astley High – who are representing the North East - will be looking to avenge last season’s defeat at Victoria Park and bring to an end Castleford Academy’s success over the previous half-decade.
Will Castleford continue their dominance or will Astley High pull off a huge victory?
Outwood Grange Academy vs Saddleworth | Boys Year 11 Final | Our League | 7:00pm
The final game of the exciting triple-header pits Outwood Grange Academy against Saddleworth with the Year 11 Boys title on the line.
Outwood Grange – based in Wakefield – have beaten Ulverston, Garforth and Brooksbank on route to the final. Their big victory coming in the semi-finals against Brooksbank who were Year 10 champions last season.
Their opponents Saddleworth also managed to claim a scalp in Round One as they knocked out last year’s national finalists Wade Deacon. They have also knocked out Westlakes and Malet Lambert on their way to Wednesday’s final.
Which team will round off their brilliant cup runs in style?
