Luke Cresswell fires Barrow past York
Luke Cresswell scored four tries and Shane Toal added three as Barrow Raiders saw off York City Knights 50-28 in an entertaining clash.
Declan Hulme, Nathan Mossop and Tom Walker also scored for Barrow, who pulled clear in the second half after being given a good game by York in the opening 40 minutes.
Hulme needed only five minutes to open the scoring, but David Johnston replied for the hosts. Barrow looked to be pulling clear as Toal got his first of the afternoon and then Lewis Charnock converted Mossop's 19th minute try to make it 16-6, but York replied through Nev Morrison and then, after Cresswell's first try, again through Joe Porter to make it 20-18 at the break.
James Haynes' try put York in front early in the second half as they led 28-20, but Barrow's response was ruthless as Cresswell scored three quick tries and Toal added another to put Barrow back in control, and they did not let up a second time.
