Rams stage second-half fightback to see off battling Knights
A second-half fightback from Dewsbury Rams spared their blushes as they came from behind to beat York City Knights 30-16 in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.
The Kingstone Press Championship outfit were 10-16 down at the break after the Knights ran in three tries, but recovered through three second-half scores to run out comfortable winners.
York, who have won all three games in League One, went behind after Jack Teanby and Dale Morton scored, but responded magnificently, with Richard Wilkinson, Kristian Brining and Austin Buchanan touching down to turn a 10-point deficit into a six-point lead at the break.
The visitors were denied a place in the sixth round, however, as the Rams struck back immediately after half-time.
Morton was put through by Shane Grady for his second of the night before James Glover earned a narrow lead with the boot.
Dalton Grant raced on to a Glover kick to cement the lead before Andy Kain dived over late on to secure the win.
