Gallagher inspires Lions fightback
Three late tries secured a dramatic 30-20 win for Swinton Lions over Barrow Raiders to help close the gap between the sides in the Kingstone Press League 1 table.
Trailing 20-12 with just over 10 minutes to go, Chris Rothwell crossed, before Tommy Gallagher claimed a brace and Jordan James touched down in the final minute to secure a late win against the Raiders, for whom Peter Lupton received a costly yellow card in the 74th minute.
Barrow had opened the scoring in the first half, with Josh Ward scoring before adding two further points with his boot. Shaun Robinson and Ben White hit back for the Lions as they took a four-point lead into the break.
However, the visitors scored 14 unanswered points in the 20 minutes after half-time, with Craig Briscoe and Chris Fleming giving them a lead which looked to won the points before a sensational finish from the Lions.
