England Community Lions PDRL announce new shirt sponsorship deal ahead of Wales clash

The England Community Lions PDRL are pleased to announce a new shirt sponsorship deal with community equipment specialists Medequip ahead of their clash against Wales this Saturday (31 August)

Following previous involvement with Wakefield Trinity Foundation, this new partnership will see Medequip continue their support of disability sports through shirt sponsorship of the England Community Lions PDRL for 2024.

Medequip’s work involves providing community equipment prescribed by clinicians to keep individuals safe and independent in their own homes. This includes specialist equipment for palliative care and facilitates timely hospital discharges. The company regularly engages with local communities through their ‘Giving Something Back’ campaigns.

RFL Director of Participation and Development, Marc Lovering, said:

“We at the RFL are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Medequip.

“Their commitment to empowering communities aligns perfectly with our values at the RFL, we are delighted to have them as the main shirt sponsor of our England Community Lions PDRL this season.

“With Medequip’s support, we are excited to enhance our visibility and participation in Rugby League, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the sport. We look forward to proudly wearing their logo and working together to make a positive impact.”

Steve Smith, General Manager for Medequips’s North East Region, underlines the importance of the companies community engagement programme:

“Our work is all about supporting people to keep them independent in their own homes by providing innovative solutions in health and social care. As part of our ‘Giving Something Back’ commitment, we are delighted to provide sponsorship for the England Lions PDRL squad, aiming to facilitate greater levels of equality in sport.”

England will travel to Pontypool United RFC this Saturday (31 August) to face Wales in the first game of a two-test series (KO 2pm).

The return leg will be played on the afternoon of Saturday 12th October at Salford City Roosters RLFC with the players and officials from both sides then attending the Super League Grand Final.
