The England Community Lions programme returns this weekend (February 3/4) with selection events across four age groups taking place on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, Pilkington Recs will host trial games for the U19’s and Open Age Men – two teams will take to the field in the U19 category for a Reds versus Blues fixture with hopes of making it into the squad that will represent England at the bi-annual European Championships. Earlier that morning there will also be a presentation of the Four Nations Trophy which the Lions won last year.
Two Open Age Men teams will then take to the pitch from 3pm in an East versus West game with places up for grabs on the Lions tour to Western Australia in the Autumn.
Sunday sees trials continue for the U16’s and U17’s at Siddal's Chevinedge home. Successful events have already been held in London and Cumbria and with over a hundred hopefuls it will be a full day for Lions staff and a chance for more players to catch the eye ahead of upcoming North West trials.
