Independent disciplinary tribunals met this evening (Tuesday 2 August) to hear one appeal, one Match Review Panel decision challenge and three review panel referrals.
Match Review Panel referrals were all found to be correct in the cases of Jordan Thomson (Workington), George Birch (London Broncos) and Mason Opie-Palmer (Hull FC).
Thomson pleaded guilty to a Grade D punching charge and was given a three match suspension; Birch is suspended for five matches after admitting a Grade E punching charge and Opie-Palmer is suspended for three matches after pleading guilty to a Grade D dangerous throw.
Newcastle Thunder’s Alex Foster remains suspended for eight matches after losing his appeal, but Wigan Warriors’ Brad O’Neil successfully challenged a Match Review Panel decision and saw his initial two match suspension for Grade C contact with a match official downgraded to Grade B (one match).
