James Roby scored a try on the day he set the record for the most Super League appearances as Betfred Super League leaders St Helens beat Hull KR 26-18 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
Roby, who went past another Super League great Kevin Sinfield with his 455th top-flight game, was given a guard of honour by team-mates and opponents alike.
And the 36-year-old, who has played his entire 18-year career for Saints, duly delivered on his landmark day by scoring in the 17th minute.
Tommy Makinson opened up with a first-minute score for the hosts and went on to add three conversions, although former St Helens favourite Lachlan Cootes went one better with two tries and a hat-trick of kicks.
But Saints subsequently outscored their visitors three to two after Roby's touchdown as Morgan Knowles, Ben Davies and Konrad Hurrell went over with Cootes and Ryan Hall replying for Hull KR as Saints made it four straight wins since their Challenge Cup semi-final defeat to Wigan.
Catalans Dragons, playing the day before, maintained the pressure with a comfortable 36-8 win over Hull FC with six different players scoring tries - Sam Tomkins converting each one - as they never looked like relinquishing a 20-0 half-time lead.
Kelepi Tanganoa touched down a converted try four minutes from time as struggling Wakefield snatched a 30-24 victory at home to Warrington.
The hosts had not been ahead up to that point despite two tries for James Batchelor but Wolves slipped to a fifth successive defeat after conceding twice in the final 10 minutes.
Castleford Tigers overcame baking hot temperatures and injury problems to beat Toulouse 20-14 in the south of France.
Coach Lee Radford could only name an initial 20-man squad but when substitute Suaia Matagi forced his way over seven minutes from half-time and Danny Richardson converted they went in at half-time at 6-6.
Matty Russell's score put the hosts ahead again just after the break but then Ryan Hampshire raced 80 metres to set up George Griffin, with Mahe Fonua's 72nd-minute try proving decisive for the visitors.
Huddersfield Giants' game at home to Leeds was another virtually over by half-time as they raced into a 22-4 lead.
Ricky Leutele and Jermaine McGillvary – who moved joint sixth on Super League's all-time scoring charts alongside Ryan Atkins on 186 – Jake Wardle and an 80-metre interception by Chris McQueen put the hosts in control.
Leeds pulled back a try on the stroke of half-time from Rhinos captain Ash Handley and Liam Sutcliffe briefly made the score 22-10 but when Josh Jones touched down for the hosts any comeback was ended despite Zak Hardaker's late effort.
Bevan French ran in a second-half hat-trick as Wigan won 30-12 at Salford.
Having held a narrow lead half-time after Harry Smith scored the only try Warriors crossed for five tries in 20 minutes with Liam Marshall's double complementing French.
