Dec Patton has signed for Salford Red Devils on a one-year deal ahead of the 2021 Betfred Super League season.
Patton joined Warrington Wolves in 2015 and has spent the last six seasons at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, making over 100 appearances for the Wire including a try-scoring performance in the 2016 Betfred Super League Grand Final against Wigan Warriors.
During his time at Warrington, Patton lifted the League Leaders’ Shield as well as helping defeat St Helens at Wembley Stadium in the 2019 Challenge Cup Final.
On the move, Patton said: “I’m over the moon to be joining Salford. It’s a great set up here.
“I know Rich [Richard Marshall] and some of the lads already, but now I’m enjoying getting to know some new faces.
“This is a fresh start and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Salford Red Devils Head Coach, Richard Marshall, added: “When I arrived here, I identified some key areas where we needed to strengthen, and this signing helps us achieve that.
“Dec’s versatility means he will bring greater depth to our squad in a number of areas.
“He’s a player who I’ve worked with previously and continued to mentor ever since.
“I am confident that he will thrive in our group and we can help him unlock his full potential.”
Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease, added: “This signing is an important one, to provide balance within our squad for the upcoming campaign.
“It has been proven that our environment is ideal for bringing the best out of players and if that happens with Dec, he will provide plenty of excitement for our supporters.
“By linking up with our coaching staff and some of his former teammates once again, I am confident he can reach new levels.”
