Catalans Dragons will be without both Michael McIlorum and Joel Tomkins for Friday’s Betfred Super League Play-off Semi-final against St Helens.
Tomkins faced a Grade F charge of Other Contrary Behaviour after being placed on report following a suspect challenge on Leeds Rhinos’ Richie Myler during last Friday’s Elimination Play-Off. An independent Operational Rules Tribunal tonight found Tomkins guilty and suspended for him for eight matches.
Tomkins was also fined £500.
An earlier tribunal suspended Michael McIlorum for a total of six matches for offences committed during the same play-off fixture. The hooker pleaded guilty to a high tackle charge and although he challenged the grading of B, the tribunal upheld that grading and imposed a two-match suspension, in addition to a £500 fine.
McIlorum pleaded guilty to a charge of Other Contrary Behaviour, but challenged its grading of F. In that case, the tribunal agreed to reduce the grading to D, and imposed a four-match suspension, with no fine.
