Oldham have completed the signing of 23-year-old forward Liam Kirk from fellow Betfred Championship side Bradford Bulls.

Kirk is a product of the Bulls Academy and has been at the club since the age of 16 but is looking for a ‘new challenge’ at Oldham after agreeing a one-year deal.

Kirk said: “I’ve been at Bradford for a few years and I’m looking for a new challenge. I want something different.

“At the same time, I’m only 23 and I’ve got years in the game ahead of me so I’m looking to achieve something as well.”

Oldham Head Coach, Matt Diskin, said: “He was in my Academy team for a few years and he’s a terrific forward.

“Until you work with him you appreciate his quality. He’s an experienced, talented forward whom I’ve tried to sign previously.

“I’m delighted to get him on board. He’ll slot comfortably into our squad and do exceptionally well.”

Kirk is Oldham’s ninth signing ahead of the 2021 Betfred Championship and fifth addition to their forward pack following the acquisitions of Luke Nelmes, Martyn Reilly, Tyler Dupree and Shaun Pick.
