Hull signed the 28-year-old back rower at the end of last season on a two-year deal but announced a termination of the contract on Thursday.
Langtree’s old club moved quickly to secure his services, tweeting: “Oldham RLFC are delighted to confirm @dannylangtree is coming home on a contract until 30 November 2020.”
Langtree, who scored 54 tries in 131 appearances in his first spell with the Roughyeds, left a full-time job with his father’s haulage firm to become a professional rugby league player but failed to break into Hull’s Super League team.
He was limited to playing with their reserves and on dual-registration with Doncaster and fell further down the pecking order when the club signed former Warrington Wolves forward Andre Savelio from Brisbane Broncos in March.
A statement from the club said: “Hull FC can confirm that Danny Langtree has left the club. The player’s contract has been terminated.”
