First-ever National Schools RL 9s competition success

Supported by 14 professional club foundations, the first-ever National 9s Schools Rugby League festival took place at Victoria Park in Warrington on Thursday.

With a focus on introducing new Rugby League players to national competition, 390 players from 26 teams took part.

Schools from Grimsby, Liverpool, Newcastle and and more competed for Trophy and Championship titles across ten pitches.

After hours of action, Bridgewater from Warrington took home the Championship title, while Leigh's Bedford High School were Trophy winners.

And Kepier, supported by the Newcastle Rugby Foundation, claimed the Fair Play Award.
