Since the weekend’s semi-finals, ticket sales for this year’s Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final between Hull FC and Warrington Wolves on Saturday August 27 are being sold at a record rate for the first-ever Cup final featuring these two teams.
Close to 70,000 tickets have been sold so far, a record at this point, and sales at The RFL and participating clubs show no sign of slowing down as supporters book their tickets to see the in-form players of 2016 go toe-to-toe in the capital to battle it out for one of sport’s oldest and most prestigious trophies.
Fans wanting to sit in the lower tier at Wembley Stadium are being advised to buy their tickets in the next few days – seats in this area are extremely limited and are anticipated to be unavailable by the end of this week.
The 2015 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup final saw 80,140 spectators see Leeds Rhinos beat Hull Kingston Rovers and RFL Marketing and Communications Director, Mark Foster is confident of another huge crowd in London for this major event.
“After Hull FC’s victory on Friday night, sales have been pretty much non-stop. There’s real excitement around this game having two of First Utility Super League’s top teams play each other.
“Both clubs are doing a fantastic job coping with the high demand for tickets from their fans. The RFL, Hull FC and Warrington were well prepared for the number of sales that would come in over the past few days.
“Last year’s attendance was fantastic but the way things are going I would strongly advise Rugby League fans to buy early to get the best seats.”
