
Halifax Panthers secured a win to remember at Odsal on Good Friday as the ran out 20-17 winners against Bradford despite having a man sent off inside the first minute.
Loose forward Jacob Fairbank was dismissed without playing a minute but 12-man Halifax produced a remarkable away performance to seal the points.
Dec Patton and Joe Keyes traded penalties before Brandon Moore scored the first try of the game on 19 minutes, Keyes with the goal.
Sam Scott struck back for the hosts soon after with Patton goaling for 8-8, before Jordan Lilley kicked a drop goal to put the Bulls 9-8 up at the break.
Steve Crossley went over on 53 minutes, Patton converted before he hit a penalty goal for a 17-8 lead on the hour mark.
But Halifax dug deep in the final quarter, Zack McComb went over for a try on 64 minutes, Keyes converting, before Louis Jouffret struck a decisive blow as he scored on 75 minutes to put the visitors 18-17 up.
Keyes converted for 20-17 which is how it stayed on the final hooter.
Elsewhere on Friday, Ryley Jacks scored a hat-trick of tries as Featherstone Rovers cruised to an impressive 58-6 win at home to Barrow Raiders.
Luke Briscoe kicked off a fine afternoon with a try after a minute before the first of Jacks' treble on 11 minutes. Craig Hall added the first of his nine goals on the night for a 10-0 advantage early on.
Ben Hellewell and Connor Jones were Rovers' other first-half tryscorers before Shane Toal bagged a try for Barrow on the stroke of half time, Jarrod Sammut converting, but the home side still took a 22-6 lead into the interval.
Brian McDermott's league leaders turned up the style in the second half and added 36 more points without reply.
Jacks completed his hat-trick before the hour mark, scoring either side of a try for captain James Lockwood, before the scoreline blew out in the final 12 minutes.
Hellewell added his second try before Matty Wildie went in, and then new signing Mark Kheirallah marked his Rovers debut as the seconds ticked down to full time.
Leigh Centurions kept up the heat on Featherstone with a clinical 36-6 win at Widnes Vikings.
After a hard-fought first period, Leigh only led 12-0 at the break thanks to tries from Ata Hingano and Ed Chamberlain, with Krisnan Inu kicking two goals.
Though Adam Lawton was a second-half tryscorer for Widnes, Steve Tyrer with the goal, Leigh had too much for their hosts as they ran in four more tries in the second period, alongside four more Inu goals.
Nene Macdonald was first before tries from John Asiata, Inu and Joe Mellor between minute 60 and 69 doused the fire of any potential comeback.
Finally, the Heavy Woollen Derby eventually went to form as Batley Bulldogs produced a 36-20 home win over Dewsbury Rams.
The Bulldogs did have to come from behind however, with Dewsbury leading 14-12 at half time thanks to tries from Ben Blackmore and Lewis Carr, plus three Matty Beharrell goals.
Batley's first-half points came courtesy of a Kieran Buchanan double and two goals for Tom Gilmore.
Carr grabbed his second try of the day on 45 minutes in a perfect start to the second half for the visitors. Beharrell converted and the Rams led 20-12, but tries from Greg Johnson, Lucas Walshaw, Michael Ward and Johnny Campbell - as well as four more Gilmore goals - turned the tie around and handed the Bulldogs the points and bragging rights.
