With the Rugby League World Cup on the horizon, and Shaun Wane having now named his initial train-on squad for 2022, we look at the England squad members who are set to be in action across Betfred Super League this weekend.
Thursday: Wigan Warriors v Hull FC - 8pm kick off, live on Sky Sports
John Bateman will be looking to build on his Player of the Match performance from last week as Hull FC head for the DW stadium on Thursday night,
Bateman has been named in Matt Peet's 21-man squad alongside fellow England forward Liam Farrell, with backs Zak Hardaker and Liam Marshall also set to be involved as Wigan seek a sixth league win of the season. Kai Pearce-Paul will miss the game as he begins what is expected to be a lengthy injury lay off.
Friday: Huddersfield Giants v Catalans Dragons - 7.45pm kick off
Jermaine McGillvary is in the squad as Huddersfield prepare for one of their toughest challenges of the season on Friday. The Giants sit fourth in the table and will be looking to keep pace with the league's frontrunners with a win.
McGillvary will have fellow England winger Tom Davies amongst the opposition - he is still chasing his first try of the Super League season, but his impressive 728 metres from 91 carries sees his importance to the Dragons go beyond the scoresheet.
Meanwhile Sam Tomkins is once again likely to start at full back - he's the league's third-highest goalkicker with 17 and will be looking to add to that on Friday.
Friday: Castleford Tigers v Toulouse Olympique - 8pm kick off
Niall Evalds made a triumphant return to the Castleford side at Leeds last week and will likely start at full back again. Castleford sit second-bottom of the Super League table and a win over bottom-placed Toulouse could be the kickstart Lee Radford's side need after just one win from their first six games.
Paul McShane will captain the side from hooker once again - can he lead them to a second win?
Friday: Hull KR v Warrington Wolves - 8pm kick off
Ryan Hall is second only to Tommy Makinson for metres made amongst the England squad, clocking an impressive 775 to date. The Hull KR winger will be looking to add to his two tries so far after sitting out his side's Cup win over Leigh last week.
In opposition, Warrington are out to arrest a slump in form which resulted in their exit from the Cup last time out.
England squad members Daryl Clark, Mike Cooper, Ben Currie, Stefan Ratchford and George Williams are all likely to feature for the visitors in Hull as Warrington look to build on their three league wins so far this year.
Daryl Powell's side could lean heavily on Williams and Ratchford, who both have four assists to their name, with Ratchford the league's second-top goal kicker with 19.
Friday: Leeds Rhinos v St Helens - 8pm kick off, live on Sky Sports
Rhinos captain Kruise Leeming and star prop Mikolaj Oledzki are both in line for starts once again this week as Leeds face the champions at Headingley.
The Rhinos are currently tenth in the league after an underwhelming start which has seen them win one game all year. The pair have been amongst Leeds' most admired performers so far this year however, with Oledzki able to claim the title of the league's top-tackling prop in 2022.
Meanwhile, centre Harry Newman is now set for a 12-week spell on the sidelines after he recently underwent an operation on a hamstring injury.
In opposition, St Helens lost to Toulouse in their last league outing but, after a Cup win at Whitehaven to boost their spirits, they will be favourites for a win on Friday against the struggling Rhinos.
They are bolstered by the return of Alex Walmsley, while the league's third-highest metre maker, joint-top tryscorer - with eight - and kicker of 16 goals, Tommy Makinson is also once again in the 21-man squad.
Full back Jack Welsby will be aiming to add to his impressive 10 assists so far this season, with Lewis Dodd and Mark Percival looking to boost their try tally of four each.
Forward pair Morgan Knowles and Matty Lees are also once again likely to feature as Saints look to strengthen their grip on top spot.
Sunday: Wakefield Trinity v Salford Red Devils, 3pm kick off
Reece Lyne is likely to be the only England squad member on show this Sunday as Wakefield host Salford, as Dan Sarginson recovers from injury.
The centre has been crucial to Wakefield's recent upturn in form, racking up the metres and carries, while he scored what proved to be a crucial try in his side's 16-12 Cup win at Warrington last week.
Can he make it two in two? A win for Wakefield would propel them above Salford and they could find themselves in the league's top half if results elsewhere go their way.
