Salford fight back against Leeds and Catalans victorious

Three tries in the final 14 minutes saw Salford Red Devils come from behind to beat Leeds Rhinos 26-12, ending a three-game losing run.

Chris Atkin, Elijah Taylor and Ryan Brierley all went over in the final quarter to give Paul Rowley’s men their third win of the Betfred Super League season.

Mikolaj Oledzki opened the scoring for Leeds after eight minutes, but Ken Sio soon levelled the scores going over for the Red Devils.

Winger Ash Handley restored the visitors advantage with ten minutes of the first half remaining, but Sneyd would narrow the arrears slightly with a penalty goal. Richard Agar’s side went into half-time leading 8-10.

Bodene Thompson was sent to the sin-bin for Leeds before the break while Zane Tetevano received the same punishment on the 56-minute mark.

The Red Devils would hit Leeds with three quickfire tries in the closing stages to ensure victory.

Elsewhere, Catalans Dragons extended their winning run to five consecutive games with an 18-10 win over Hull Kingston Rovers in Perpignan.

Sam Tomkins boot was the difference between the sides with the England fullback notching five goals in another impressive display.
