The first of the central festivals of Masters 10th Anniversary year was the Cumbria Festival taking place for the first time in Carlisle at the impressive Warwick road Ground of Carlisle Rugby club, home of Carlisle Masters Rugby League team.
Over 210 Masters players turned out for a festival of great Masters and lots of socialising: making the 2018 Cumbria Festival the biggest yet! Blessed with a dry sunny day, the Cumbria Regional festival was a great success.
There were 15 Clubs involved in the day
- Hindpool Tigers
- Barrow
- West Cumbria
- Netherhall
- Carlisle
- Blackpool
- Leyland
- Rylands
- Bank Quay
- Crosfields
- Leeds
- Eastmoor
- York Lokos
- Hull
- Newcastle
For the second year running, Hull Masters took the Team of the Festival Award who made a long journey with 10 players but acquitted themselves extremely well.
The Festival's Master of The Day was Mike Oldcorn of Barrow Masters with Blackpool's Conrad Pitman carrying off the trophy for Masters Moment.
Not only a day with lots of wonderful Masters Rugby League but some first class socialising!
In all a great day, well organised by the Carlisle Masters Rugby League club. Well done to them!
