After scooping their second Ladbrokes Challenge Cup in as many years, the Black and Whites fell just short in Betfred Super League, again losing out in the semi-finals.
Two big losses to the squad roster are the departures of Gareth Ellis and Mahe Fonua.

Mickey Paea returns to East Yorkshire to fill in the void at prop whilst winger Bureta Faraimo comes in from NZ Warriors.
It’s a tricky start to the season for Hull, with the likes of Castleford, Warrington and Leeds in the opening weeks, following on from the trip to Wollongong where they face Wigan in the first ever Super League game held in Australia.
The have arguably been the most consistent team in Super League over the past 24 months, but will Radford and co. be able to turn that into long-awaited league silverware?
One to watch: Albert Kelly
With a ton of trickery and skill in his back pocket, Kelly’s creative edge proved to be the difference in a number of Hull’s wins last campaign.
After enjoying a brilliant first season with the Black and Whites in 2017 which saw him make the three-man shortlist for Man of Steel, stand-off Kelly will be aiming to use it as a spring-board to more success in 2018.
