A Christmas message from RFL President Tony Adams MBE

A Christmas message from RFL President Tony Adams MBE

Dear All,

The Rugby League season is a long one and for many players, coaches, staff, match officials and volunteers, the Christmas period is also busy. It’s also a time to try and recharge and look after yourself physically, mentally and emotionally so you can bounce into the new season feeling positive and well.

Christmas can be joyful and fun, especially spending time with loved ones. But I know for some it can also be one of the hardest times of the year. You may feel obliged to do things and may over-commit to socialising. Or you may experience feelings of loneliness or isolation. Talking to someone helps; there is help, support and care available.

All year round but especially at Christmas, all of us benefit from getting outside in the fresh air, keeping active, getting good sleep and eating well – I love my food! Be kind to yourself. Do the things that make you smile and have a break this Christmas. Thank you for everything you do for the sport. Together with my team at Sporting Chance, and Rugby League Cares, I will continue to be out and about with clubs in the new year to support players as we get set for another great season of Rugby League. I hope to see many of you at these sessions, and at games.

Have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tony Adams MBE

RFL President
