Checkatrade Try of the Week

This week's Checkatrade Try of the Week features tries from the Betfred Championship and League 1 play-offs, the final weekend of the regular Betfred Super League season, the Southern Conference League Grand Final and an U16s international match-up.

Gavin Marguerite (Toulouse Olympique)

The first contender in this week's Checkatrade Try of the Week is Toulouse Olympique's Gavin Marguerite who finished a flowing Olympique move by gathering a low pass and finishing in the corner after Mark Kheirallah made the initial break and threw a sublime pass in the build-up.

Tommy Makinson (St Helens)

Tommy Makinson has scored his fair share of sensational tries in 2019 and it was no different on the last weekend of the regular Betfred Super League season. A pinpoint kick found the arms of the winger who took the ball well and finished under pressure.

Jason Tali (Doncaster RLFC)

Doncaster earned an impressive victory over Newcastle Thunder in the Betfred League 1 play-offs and scored a stunning team try which saw the ball go through the hands of eight different Dons players before Jason Tali powered his way over.

Blake Waterhouse (Hammersmith Hills Hoists)

The fourth try in the running this week comes from the inaugral Southern Conference League Grand Final as Blake Waterhouse sliced through the London Chargers' line to help Hammersmith Hills Hoists on their way to victory.

Josh Walters (Featherstone Rovers)

Featherstone got their Betfred Championship play-off campaign off to a winning start at Leigh Centurions and it was Josh Walters' try which all but confirmed victory as he went through the Centurions line and fended off the incoming challenges to send the Rovers fans into delirium.

Lee Walsh (Ireland U16s)

The final contender in this week's Checkatrade Try of the Week comes from the international youth scene as Ireland U16s winger Lee Walsh displayed his blistering pace to outrun the Scotland U16s defence in a curtain-raiser to Newcastle's League 1 play-off battle with Doncaster.
