It’s your first season in the Championship so it’s your first chance to play at Summer Bash. What are you most looking forward to?
Probably the crowd to be honest because it’ll probably be bigger than anything we’ve experienced this year. I’m hoping for a big crowd and a good atmosphere. I watched the Featherstone and Leigh game last year which was a bit feisty!
Sky Sports will be showing all the games at Summer Bash so you’ll also be making your TV debut next weekend.
I haven’t thought too much about that to be honest. I suppose there are a lot of people asking how I’m getting on, so it’ll give people the chance to see for themselves!

The Oldham fans will make their first visit to Summer Bash this year.
You take on fellow Championship new-boys Swinton Lions on the Sunday, who beat you earlier this season. Do you feel like you owe them one after that defeat?
To be honest, I feel like we owe ourselves one because we let ourselves down badly that day. Not taking anything away from Swinton because they are a good side but we don’t feel like we performed anywhere near our levels that day.
It had been a little bit of a slow start to the season for you but during the last few months you’ve started picking up a number of wins. Was it a case of getting used to the better standard at Championship level?
I think you could say that – it was always going to take us a bit of time to adjust. We probably beat some teams that no-one really fancied us to beat and probably lost to teams that people would fancy us to beat.
Fish and Chips or Hot Dog? – Fish and Chips
The Beach or Blackpool Pleasure Beach? – The rollercoasters
Ice cream or candyfloss? – Ice cream
Blackpool Tower of the Pier? – The Pier
Magic Weekend or Summer Bash? – Summer Bash
Obviously by far the most noticeable match of the season was when you beat Hull KR in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.
I don’t think anyone in their right mind gave us a chance down there, bar ourselves. We had seen Hull KR were in a bit of a lull after losing a few games and they had a few players out injured.
We were on a roll and had a few wins behind us and were feeling confident. We got off to a massive start which helped and just grew in confidence and never really looked like losing from there.
It’s a few weeks down the line now and after losing out to Warrington in the next round, have you been able to re-focus on the league now?
Yes but it didn’t get much easier for us with us playing Leigh the weekend after who look like they’ve really clicked. People might say they’ve been a little bit off this season but they finally clicked last weekend and got their act together and we were on the wrong side of that.
