The Ladbrokes Challenge Cup second round tie between Pilkington Recs and 2016 Kingstone Press National Conference Champions, Siddal has been chosen as the live streamed game on the BBC Sport website on Saturday, February 11 (2.15pm).
BBC Sport are hoping for another bumper audience after the success of the first round game between Leigh Miners Rangers and Wigan St Patricks.
BBC Rugby League correspondent and Ladbrokes Challenge Cup commentator, Dave Woods said: “The reaction we got to that first game was phenomenal!
“Some 20,000 viewers tuned in, and our Twitter feed was extremely busy with people saying how much they enjoyed the game. People were watching all over the country and were clearly blown away by how entertaining the game was - standards produced by both Miners and St Pats were outstanding.
“Hopefully the viewing figures for Pilkington Recs v Siddal will be bigger and better and I’d recommend any sports fan to tune in next Saturday, because I guarantee they will be impressed.”
The second round tie will be played on a new 4G pitch at Pilkington Recs home at Ruskin Drive, and that’s something NCL champions Siddal are looking forward to.
“We won the NCL Grand Final on the 4G pitch at Widnes last year and we loved the experience,” said Siddal captain, Shaun Garrod.
“It’s completely different. It’s a fast-flowing surface and that’ll suit our game.
“Pilkington beat us once last year and we beat them once, and they were both really close games. It’s definitely the tie of the round.”
BBC Sport and the Rugby Football League are committed to live streaming one game from each of the first five rounds of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup, showcasing the game at the grass roots level.
When the competition reaches the sixth round and beyond, matches will be screened on BBC1 and BBC2 over each weekend. The Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, August 26 will dominate the afternoon schedules on BBC1.
