London Broncos have announced that James Cunningham has agreed a new deal with the club for the 2019 Super League season.
The fans favourite had a great season for the side throughout 2018, playing both at half-back and hooker. His performance also earned him a call up, as the only Championship player, to the England Knights squad.
Cunningham said: “I am really happy to have secured another year at the club. Last season I felt I was playing really well and I hope I can carry that form into next year.
“I want to say thanks to Danny Ward and his team for having faith in me and helping me through the tough times and the good. I am now looking forward to playing with this great group of guys and continuing the journey onwards into the Super League.”
Head Coach Danny Ward said: “We are delighted that James has re-signed for the Broncos for the 2019 season. Before injury cut short his season, James was in top form and steered the team through some crucial wins at the business end. We are looking forward to seeing Cunno step up to the challenge of Super League next season.”
Broncos Chairman David Hughes said: “James is another exciting young talent here at London Broncos. We are very pleased that he has decided to stay in the capital despite the interest he has received from many other Super League sides.”
