The 2017 Women's Rugby League season began on Sunday with four exciting fixtures taking place.
The first saw Wigan St Pats welcome Featherstone Rovers and, in a closely-fought affair, it was St Pats who emerged with the win on the opening weekend, 10-4.
Becky Greenfield and Gillian Aspin scored, with Gemma Hennesey converting one of the tries for Wigan.
Featherstone's try was scored by Grace Field, but the home side had the edge on the day.
Wakefield Trinity Ladies were beaten 56-10 at home to Stanningley on their competitive debut.
Meanwhile, it was another away win in the Oulton vs Thatto Heath-St Helens game, with Thatto powering to a 62-0 win.
Jodie Cunningham, Tara Jones, Jade Ward and Chantelle Crowl all chipped in with two tries each, with Faye Gaskin kicking eight goals.
