Official Report / Commentary

Sam Nash double helps London Skolars overcome North Wales Crusaders

Sam Nash scored twice as London Skolars secured a third consecutive Kingstone Press League 1 victory courtesy of a 31-24 win over North Wales Crusaders.

Skolars raced into a 16-0 lead in 17 minutes following scores from Dave Williams, Alex Walker and Ryan Chester, but Crusaders came roaring back through converted tries from Alex Thompson and Ryan Smith.

Despite Nash crossing for his first touchdown five minutes before half-time to make it 20-12, Crusaders moved to within two points after Tommy Johnson kicked a penalty and Scott Turner plucked a high kick out of the air to score 11 minutes into the second half.

But Crusaders failed to build on that momentum as Nash scored his second try and Israel Eliab crashed over before Jymel Coleman\'s drop goal nine minutes from time made the game safe, meaning Thompson's second score was nothing more than a consolation.
