Yorkshire claimed the bragging rights as they beat Lancashire 14-8 in the first Women's Origin game of 2019, held at Blackpool FC's Bloomfield Road as part of Summer Bash day 2.
After a tight start, Tara Jones opened the scoring for Lancashire with a clever dart from dummy half on 17 minutes.
Sinead Peach then hit back with a carbon copy of the opener, Rhiannion Marshall's goal putting Yorkshire 6-4 up with 23 minutes played.
Amy Hardcastle then muscled her way over from close range as half time approached, leaving the visitors 10-4 up at the break.
Marshall then grabbed a try herself on 48 minutes, dummying her way through the defence.
Yorkshire led 14-4 going into the final quarter and, despite a late Lancashire lifeline coming in the form of a Georgia Wilson try, they held on to claim a 14-8 win in the first Women's Origin fixture of 2019.
