Palea'aesina signs for Doncaster while continuing off-field role with Hull

Former New Zealand international Iafeta Palea'aesina has signed a two-year deal with Doncaster RLFC but will remain with Hull FC as their full-time player welfare manager.

The 33-year-old prop, who joined the Black and Whites in 2014 from French side Limoux, made only six substitute appearances for Lee Radford's men in 2016 and will continue his playing career in Kingstone Press League 1 with Doncaster, with whom he played on dual registration this year while making his comeback from injury.

"I'm really pleased," said Palea'aesina, who has been performing the player welfare role for Hull on a part-time basis. "The club (Hull) has showed great faith in me by offering me a role off the field.

"A few years ago I was running round in France and (Hull owner) Adam Pearson and Lee Radford gave a lifeline to come back to England and I was really grateful for that.

"The last three years have been great for me, playing for Hull FC, and it's great that they have offered me the opportunity to stay on in a full-time capacity in a role which I've really enjoyed doing."
