Betfred Championship Preview

The battle for the final place in the Betfred Championship play-offs will end this weekend as London Broncos and Whitehaven battle it out.

It all comes down to two 3pm kick offs on Sunday. The Broncos, who are sixth, know a win on their visit to York City Knights will guarantee their place in the end-of-season shootout.

But if they slip up, Whitehaven know a win as they face a trip to play Bradford Bulls as Odsal, will mean they steal the final play-off place on the final day.

London, after an eventful season, have managed two wins from their last three games, while they put up a fight in defeat at home to high-flying Featherstone last time out so will be hopeful of another positive result as they tackle Bradford, who have long since sealed their own play-off spot.

Meanwhile Whitehaven have been one of the form sides in the second tier over the past few months. Their run to the final weekend has seen them win 10 of their last 12 matches, a run which remarkably includes eight home wins in a row.

They downed third-placed Halifax at home last week and fifth-placed Batley on the road two weeks ago. One more scalp at Bradford will be the aim on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the Betfred Championship, Toulouse Olympique will be presented with the League Leaders' Shield when they visit Newcastle Thunder on Saturday, 3pm kick off, in a game which will be shown live on Our League.

In Sunday's other final regular season round action, Dewsbury Rams will bid farewell to Liam Finn as they host Oldham, Sheffield visit Featherstone, Halifax take on Batley and Swinton are at home to Widnes.
