There are a quartet of live Betfred Championship fixtures at your fingertips this Sunday thanks to Our League.
Featherstone Rovers – who have won all 11 of their Championship outings in 2021 – travel to Widnes Vikings on Sunday looking to maintain their perfect start to the season.
James Webster’s side come into this weekend on the back of two dominant home victories against Newcastle Thunder and London Broncos with Gareth Gale and Craig Hall in fine try-scoring form. Junior Moors has impressed since arriving at the Millennium Stadium and could make his 200th career appearance this weekend.
Widnes were narrowly edged out by Halifax Panthers last weekend with Liam Harris’ drop-goal proving the difference. Featherstone overcame Widnes last month in the Semi-Finals of the AB Sundecks 1895 Cup, 24-18, at the Millennium Stadium.
London Broncos will be looking to bounce back following the news of Head Coach Danny Ward departing the club in midweek. Ward’s exit followed a heavy defeat away at Featherstone.
The Broncos have won each of their last three home fixtures in the Championship while their opponents York City Knights come into the game on the back of five consecutive Championship losses, including last week’s two-point defeat to Newcastle.
James Ford’s men knocked London out of the Betfred Challenge Cup earlier this season and have been victorious on their last two visits to Ealing Trailfinders.
Oldham head into their Our League fixture against Bradford Bulls buoyed by the arrival of the Betfred Super League’s most successful Head Coach of all-time – Brian McDermott – as a Coaching Consultant.
McDermott has arrived looking to turn around the Roughyeds fortunes after just two wins from their 11 Championship outings this season. McDermott’s former club Bradford returned to winning ways last time out with a 30-16 win against fellow play-off hopefuls Batley Bulldogs.
The Bulls have won each of their last six meetings with Oldham with the Roughyeds’ last triumph over Bradford coming in April 2017.
The final Our League offering for the weekend sees Newcastle Thunder host Dewsbury Rams with both clubs looking to climb into the top half of the Championship table. Thunder are aiming to earn back-to-back victories for the first time this season while the Rams could extend their unbeaten run to three games.
Elsewhere, Halifax host Whitehaven with both clubs heading into the game on the back of impressive victories last time out. The Panthers edged out Widnes in a back-and-forth affair while Whitehaven have earned consecutive home victories against York and Swinton Lions, respectively.
Batley face table-toppers Toulouse Olympique with the French outfit hopeful of making it nine wins from nine outings in the Championship. Swinton continue their search for their first victory of 2021 as they welcome Sheffield Eagles. Mark Aston’s men are also looking for their first win since June 12.
