Warrington to host two Girls' Cup Finals

Warrington to host two Girls' Cup Finals

Warrington’s Halliwell Jones Stadium will stage two Girls’ Cup Finals tonight – providing a platform for talented players aiming to follow in the footsteps of the England Women who relished playing at the same stadium in last Friday night’s National Lottery Mid-Season International.

Warrington Wolves are involved in each of the North West Cup Finals, at Under-14s and Under-16s level – reflecting the great work of their Foundation.

The Under-14s face Ashton Bears at 6pm, followed by the Under-16s Final at 730pm in which the Wolves will face Orrell St James / Culcheth.

Dave Raybould, the RFL’s Community Game Competition Manager, said: “Women’s and Girls’ Rugby League has been a huge success story for the sport in recent years, and after the National Lottery Mid-Season International last Friday, it’s great that the next generation will have the opportunity to play these Finals at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

“Congratulations and good luck to all four teams who have qualified for the Finals, and our thanks to Warrington Wolves and their Foundation for hosting the event.”
