City of Hull & District Awards Evening

City of Hull and District Rugby League Inaugural Awards Evening - Monday 4 November 2019 - Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel in Willerby, Hull.

The City of Hull and District Rugby League held their Inaugural Awards Evening on Monday 4 November 2019 at the Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel in Willerby, Hull.

In total there were 380 guests present including the players and staff from the six teams that won either the Shield or Championship at Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 levels.

Other guests included Sponsors of the City of Hull and District Rugby League as well as key personnel from the RFL and the two professional Clubs in the City – Hull F.C. and Hull K.R.

Super League players in Scott Taylor, Brad Fash, Jordan Abdull and Jez Litten helped with the Awards ceremony with Head Coaches Lee Radford and Tony Smith also taking to the stage to share their thoughts with the guests as well as Hull F.C. Director of Rugby Development Danny Wilson and Hull K.R. Head of Youth John Bastian.

COHDRL Chairman Steve Crooks closed the evening with the final speech.

The Awards winners were as follows:

  • Tier 2 Shield Winners - Cottingham Tigers Under 12
  • Tier 2 Championship Winners - Hull Wyke U12
  • Tier 3 Shield Winners - East Hull Under 13
  • Tier 3 Championship Winners - Hull Wyke Under 13
  • Tier 4 Shield Winners - Lambwath Lions Under 15
  • Tier 4 Championship Winners - Skirlaugh Under 14

COHDRL Competition Co-Ordinator Rob Wilson commented: "The night was a big success. Alan Parker tells me it is the best Youth Rugby League awards night he has been to in over 35 years. Massive thank you to all the players, coaches and parents for buying into the event and the feedback we have received so far has been very positive from everyone."
