An action-packed weekend of live Rugby League

Toulouse Olympique v York City Knights | Betfred Championship Play-Offs | Saturday 14 September | 2pm | Our League

The Betfred Championship play-offs get underway on Saturday afternoon and you couldn’t ask for a better game as French side Toulouse Olympique welcome surprise package York City Knights in the qualifying final.

Sylvain Houles’ side have won seven consecutive games heading into Saturday’s huge clash and already have two victories over York to their name in 2019. Olympique have won each of their last three home games and will be hopeful of taking that form into this weekend and beginning their play-off campaign in a positive fashion.

York also finished the season strongly winning ten of their last 11 outings in the Championship. The Knights only earned promotion from League 1 last season but will be looking to earn a memorable victory in France and begin their charge to consecutive promotions.

Newcastle Thunder v Doncaster RLFC | Betfred League 1 Play-Offs | Sunday 15 September | 2:30pm | Our League & Twitch

The Betfred League 1 play-offs are set to be hotly contested this season and the first game between Newcastle Thunder and Doncaster RLFC is sure to set the tone for the next month of action.

Newcastle Thunder had slipped into 3rd place in the final few weeks of the Betfred League 1 season but did enjoy a strong run of form in the closing months winning ten of their last 11 fixtures. Thunder come into this weekend’s game on the back of consecutive victories.

Doncaster have also been in impressive form losing just one game since mid-July and ending the season with four wins from their last five fixtures. The Dons comfortably beat fellow promotion hopefuls Workington Town 4-30 on the final day of the regular season.

Who will face Oldham RLFC next weekend?

Leigh Centurions v Featherstone Rovers | Betfred Championship | Sunday 15 September | 6:30pm | Sky Sports Arena

There is a huge game to close the Rugby League weekend as Leigh Centurions face Featherstone Rovers – live on Sky Sports – with both sides knowing they need to win to keep their seasons alive.

The Centurions head into the play-offs on the back of consecutive losses in the Championship against fellow promotion contenders York and Toronto. However, prior to this John Duffy’s men had won nine of their last ten although their only defeat did come against this weekend’s opponents Featherstone.

The Rovers also suffered recent defeats at the hands of York and Toronto after enjoying a run of just one loss between April and August. Featherstone inflicted one of Leigh’s most recent defeats but it was the Centurions who came out on top the last time the sides met at Leigh Sports Village.

Will it be Leigh or Featherstone who progress?
