TLM Tutors

Rugby League prides itself on being a family game which is inclusive, uncompromising and passionate, and the principles of RESPECT, set out the obligations on all participants to maintain the game’s high standards.

The Touchline Manager (TLM) role is a vital part of the Rugby League RESPECT programme.

The TLM programme aims to maintain and enhance the environment in which the game is played at all levels.

It is important to the sport that games are played in a positive environment which not only encourages new participants but also helps keep the many players that we already have in the sport.

After volunteers have attended a training night they will:

  • Understand what is meant by positive spectator behaviour
  • Understand the negative impact unacceptable behaviour and language has on a child's enjoyment of the game
  • Recognise and be able to challenge unacceptable/inappropriate language and behaviour appropriately
  • Follow reporting procedures
  • Signpost and access additional support and advice as needed
